Flemings to mark
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fleming, 805 Flat Rock Rd., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at Bellevue Alliance Church on Saturday, Nov. 7. They will first renew their vows at 4 p.m. and will then be guests of honor at the open house hosted from 4-7 p.m. by their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Fleming and the former Clara Koch were married Nov. 7, 1959, in Lyme Congregational Church. They were attended by Kathryn Keegan as maid of honor; Richard Fleming as best man and Jeanette Lyons as flower girl.
The couple are parents of two children, Cheryl (Adam) Wynbissinger and Darin (Leslie) Fleming. They also have five grandchildren, Andrew, Luke and Caleb Wynbissinger and Sidney and Samantha Fleming.
Mr. Fleming was employed in the maintenance department of the Ohio Turnpike for 32 years, retiring in 1997. He also operated a lawn mower business for 22 years and was an auxiliary police officer for 10 years.
Mrs. Fleming baby-sat many children while her children were small, then went to work for the Bellevue School System for 10 years in the cafeteria. She worked at the former Bellevue General Electric Lamp Plant until its closing and then was employed by Huron Products, in Bellevue; Pepperidge Farms, in Willard; and Prepared Foods, Sandusky, before retiring from Sandusky Plastics in 1997.
The couple invite their friends, family and neighbors to join them at the 4 p.m. vow renewal service at Bellevue Alliance Church, 1001 Monroe St., and the open house which will follow from 4-7 p.m. at the church. The omission of gifts is requested.
