A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit with silent auction and 50/50 raffles will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Castalia Lions Club, 607 N. Washington St., Castalia, for the benefit of Tyler Zahel, 2, of Bellevue. Tyler has Stage 4 neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. Dinner will be served from 4-8 p.m., with carry-outs available; auction is from 4-7:30 p.m. (do not have to be present). World-renowned eco-theologian and professor of world religions, Dr. Jay McDaniel, will be in Bellevue to give a free workshop on Saturday, Sept. 6, at First United Methodist Church, 901 Northwest St. He will lead three discussions on spirituality, ecology, and different religions. The Humane Society of Erie County offers bingo every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at the Sandusky Eagles Club, 1235 W. Perkins Ave., in Sandusky.
