'Odd Couple' auditions set

TIFFIN -- The Ritz Players will hold open auditions for their upcoming comedy, The Odd Couple, on Aug. 18 and 19 at 6:30 p.m. on The Ritz Theatre main stage, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. The cast calls for six males and two females ages 20 and older. The show will be performed at The Ritz from October 10-19.

This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. If the mess is any indication, it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger who has just separated from his wife. Since he is very fastidious and far too tense, they fear he might commit suicide and go about locking all the windows. When Felix arrives, he is scarcely allowed to go to the bathroom alone. As the hilarious action unfolds, the clean-freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together and become the "odd couple."

Scripts are available at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. Contact director Betsy Gerhart at 419-569-1458 for additional information.
