Terra open registration

FREMONT -- Terra Community College will have an open registration event Tuesday, Aug. 5. Offices will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. to help students who want to register for fall 2008 classes.

Students are invited to tour campus, talk with financial aid representatives, complete the COMPASS placement assessment, and meet with an advisor to discuss course selection.

Current and prospective students are asked to report to the Admissions Office in Roy Klay Hall (Building A) to get started.

"This year it's a little more critical for students and prospective students to get in to register," said Cory Stine, assistant director of Admissions. "Our current enrollment is running 12 percent higher than last fall. Classes are filling quickly. We would hate to see students closed out of the classes they need."

With tuition at only $119.65 per credit hour, students are finding it more affordable to stay local and attend Terra, Stine added.

Students can choose from more than 100 majors and certificate programs, or take the first two years of a bachelor's degree at a fraction of the cost and then transfer their credits to a university to finish.

Fall classes at Terra begin Monday, Aug. 25. Schedules are online at www.terra.edu or hard copies are available on campus.

For more information, contact Admissions and Enrollment Services at 419-559-2349 or toll-free 866-AT-TERRA, ext. 2349.
