The Bellevue Development Corporation recently elected new officers for the 2009 calendar year.

The President for the coming year is Dean Miller, President and CEO of First National Bank; 1st Vice President is Mel Miller, Board Chairman of Janotta & Herner; 2nd Vice President is Thomas Barth, owner of Hasselbach & Paul Insurance Agency; Secretary is Jeff Cook, CPA and owner of Cook & Associates accounting firm; Treasurer is Bob Birr, retired executive GE; Immediate Past President is Alan Ganci, Executive VP and CFO of The Bellevue Hospital. The Development Corporation is located at 110 West Main Street. The BDC is active in working with local businesses to help with their long term viability in the Bellevue area and also to promote the area as a site for business location or expansion. During 2008, the staff and board worked closely with several landowners, the City of Bellevue, Huron County and other agencies to annex 401 acres of land along U.S. 20 east of town so that it would be available for city services and have potential for commercial development.

In addition, the BDC administers the Bellevue City Revolving Loan Fund which maintains access to low interest dollars for local businesses that are locating or expanding in the city and adding new jobs.

Russ Panas, the Executive Director was also directly involved and active in the grant process for the improvements involved for the Downtown Revitalization program. The grant funds were allocated from the Revolving Loan Fund in the amount of $400,000. There are still matching grant funds available for improvement projects within the designated downtown area.
