Auxter family continues compassionate service

Auxter Funeral Home has made great progress not only for the funeral home, but for the community.

Hannah Auxter became the first female licensed embalmer and funeral director in Bellevue. She received her licenses in January, and is working at both of the Bellevue and Clyde funeral homes. Her mother, Melinda, was the first female funeral director in Bellevue, receiving her license in 1984.

"We believe women add a nurturing element to funeral service, and that can't be duplicated. We are proud to have the only two female funeral directors in Bellevue," said Melinda.

This year, Hannah purchased a home in Bellevue. She is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she sings in the choir and serves on the fellowship committee. She is a member of the Bellevue Elks and Club Amer-Ital. She is excited to be involved in the Bellevue community.

Also, the Auxter Funeral Home would like to highlight that Amy Rospert, office manager, is now selling monuments and grave markers. Rospert has worked at the funeral home for two-and-a-half years and has been learning about the Rock of Ages monument company.

"We sell Rock of Ages monuments because of their standard of quality - second to none," said Rospert.

Rock of Ages is the same company that built the World War II monument in Washington, D.C.

"They have an extensive background in monuments and that is why we have chosen to work with them." added Rospert.

Rospert can help design anything you have in mind.

"We work to personalize each stone to fit each personality. Please stop in and ask me about purchasing a monument or marker," Rospert said.

"We also strive to accommodate each family we serve. Our facility is second-to-none. Our spacious funeral home has made it possible for us to have multiple visitations at the same time; making it more accommodating for families," said Hannah.

"We have two large showing rooms which can be utilized when two families request visitation on the same day. Our facility is easily accessible from our parking lot, but we also have a convenient portico at the entrance of the facility, so that people may be dropped off and not be exposed to the inclement weather. We believe that these details, along with our caring staff, add to our accommodating nature," added Dean and Melinda Auxter.

"Our family brought our funeral home to Bellevue 10 years ago this May because we believe in the importance of being independently family owned and operated. There has never been a time in our history when we have not been family owned. Our commitment to independence and to our communities is ingrained in us," added the Auxters.
