Daniel R. Alley

Daniel R. "Dan" Alley, 42, Clyde, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at The Bellevue Hospital.

He was born Dec. 31, 1965 in Sandusky, the son of Lewis and Avanelle (Gilmore) Alley. He married Kimmi A. "Kim" Smith.

He was a 1984 graduate of Sandusky High School and had attended Toledo University. He had served in the Ohio National Guard and owned and operated A and A Seal Coat for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Kimmi; a son, Daniel R. Alley III of Clyde; his parents; three stepsons, Jeff (Heather) Smith, Bryon and Keith Gowitzka; two step-grandchildren; a sister, Libby (John) Brinson of Pickerington; and two brothers, Mark Alley of Clyde and Lewis "Scott" Alley of Clyde.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Melinda "Sissy" Alley.

Visitation was Monday, Aug. 11, at the David F. Koch Funeral Home in Sandusky.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. John King officiating. Cremation followed the service. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky at a later date.
