Helen I. Chagnon

Helen I. Chagnon, 81, Green Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at St. Francis Health Care Centre in Green Springs.

She was born Sept. 16, 1926 in Tyler, Mo. the daughter of William J. and Amanda A. (Batey) Warren. She married William J. Chagnon on July 1, 1944 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1990.

She retired in August of 1986 from the Heinz Company. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde and the Vacationland Travel-Trailer Club.

Survivors include her children, Theresa A. Drown of Clyde, and James A. (Margaret) Chagnon of Woodville; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a sister, Grace Cates; and a brother, Wilbur "Bud" Warren.

Visitation was Friday, Aug. 15, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Green Springs.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 16, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Schroeder officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
