George (Bob) Gahimer

George (Bob) Gahimer, 72, of Clyde died at his home on Oct. 19, 2009 under the care of his family and Stein Hospice.

He was born Dec. 9, 1936 in Blue Ridge, Indiana to the late Virgil and Girtha (Boyer) Gahimer.

On Sept. 6, 1955 he married JoAnn (Owen) in Rushville, Indiana, she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons Bill (Cathy) of Vickery, and Larry of Clyde; three daughters, Kathy Jo Myers-Kittum (Larry) of Clyde, Lyni (Kurt) Harms of Columbus and Sandy Gahimer of Bellevue; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Albrecht of California; and brother, David (Dorothy), Rockville, Indiana.

Also surviving area special friends Dick Channing and family, Kenny Risner and family, Leon (Red) Balduff and family, Keith and Della Jackson (Special neighbors), Chuck and Terry McGee and Bernice Wilson, "The old woman from Bellevue" as surrogate children Jimmy Adams, Janie Hemmer, Jeanette Taraschke, Greg Wilson and Athena Hansen.

George was an avid fisherman and loved to do woodworking. He was a steel hauler for many years and dredger in Huron, Ohio, Florida, and South America.

He was predeceased by his parents; son, Bobby, brother, Art, son-in-law, David Myers, and very special friends Jim and Judy Adams (Clyde). At his request there will be no visitation. A cremation will take place. Arrangements will be handled by Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral and Cremation Service, Fremont.

A celebration of his life will be will take place in July 2010 at Norwalk Reservoir (one of his favorite places to go), family and friends will be notified.
