Rita C. Steinbauer

Rita C. (O'Connell) Steinbauer, 87, Clyde, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 at the Arbors of Clyde.

She was born July 17, 1921 in Toledo, the daughter of Michael and Margaret O'Connell. She married Robert Steinbauer on Feb. 11, 1950.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde. She was a 1939 graduate of Libby High School and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church (Darby) in Toledo. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her children, Robert M. (Rosemary) Steinbauer of Columbus, Rev. Joseph R. Steinbauer of Toledo, William J. (Tami) Steinbauer of Clyde, Terence (Martha) Steinbauer of Columbus, Mary (Thomas) Rathbun of Clyde, Rita M. Steinbauer of Raleigh, NC and Patrick T. Steinbauer of New York City; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary O'Connell and Eleanor Wilson; and brother, James O'Connell.

Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Mitchell- Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St. The Rosary was recited at 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Church with Fr. Joseph Steinbauer, celebrant and Rev. Dennis Schroeder assisting. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
