James C. Ritchey
James Christian Ritchey, 82, of Clyde, died at Stein Hospice on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009.
Ritchey was born in Sandusky County, rural Clyde, Ohio to the late George and Emma (Bouyack) Ritchey on Dec. 25, 1926. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1944.
Jim was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he had formerly served as President of the church council. He also served on the Clyde Porcelain Steel Credit Union Board.
On March 31, 1984, he retired from Whirlpool Corp. after 39 1/2 yrs of employment.
Survivors include his wife, Kathyrunn (Brutcher) Ritchey, whom he married on Aug. 27, 1949. Their daughters, Nancy (John) Snyder, Derby, Kansas; Jane (Stan) Mounts, Bellefontaine, Ohio and Sharon (Tom) Powell, Clyde; along with six grandchildren, Ryan Snyder; Cary Snyder; Chad Archer; Stacy (Archer) Frole; Angie Powell and Kevin Powell, also survive. Two great-grandchildren, Logan and Dylan, survive as well.
Jim was preceded in death by his siblings; William Ritchey, Louis Ritchey, Ruth Holmes, Margaret Hintz, Mary Dick and Irene King.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 (today) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
