Richard A. Schiller
Richard A. Schiller, 87, Clyde, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at the Stein Hospice Center in Sandusky.
He was born May 2, 1921 in Sandusky, the son of Albert J. and Melissa (Rollins) Schiller. He married Ruth Bose on March 6, 1943 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 1970. He then married Loretta (Crago) Honsaker on June 30, 1979.
He was a member of Stuart Congregational Church in Stuart, Fla. He was also a member of the farm bureau and a former member of the teamsters. He graduated from York High School in 1940 and attended the Ohio State University. He was a farmer and had also driven truck for Signal Trucking.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; his daughters, Mary (John) Reitz of Bellevue and Dianne (Darley) Caldwell of Pomeroy; his sons, Raymond R. Schiller of Clyde and Ronald G. (Robin) Schiller of Lebanon; his step-sons, Russell (Kathy) Honsaker of Hayden, Idaho, Douglas (Marilyn) Honsaker of Newport Beach, Calif. and Arthur (Diane) Honsaker of Coeur-d'Alene, Idaho; 12 grandchildren,;15 step-grandchildren, and 21 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Ruth.
Visitation was Monday, Aug. 25, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Kovach officiating. Burial was in York Chapel Cemetery.
