George A. Snyder
George Albert Snyder, 69, of Walbridge, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.
George was an incredibly kind, gentle and patient person. George served in the United States Army and was retired from the Ford Motor Company after 31 years of service. In retirement George worked for SafeGuard Security Service, where he enjoyed greeting visitors at the Toledo Museum of Art. George was a world traveler while in the Army and continued to travel in retirement. He was also a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan. George will be missed by all who knew him. He truly was a unique person.
Left to cherish his memory are, son, Joseph Edward (Cynthia) of Perrysburg; granddaughter, Sydney Nichol; siblings, Dolores (Richard) Kuns of Clyde, Carl Snyder of Clyde, Thomas (Judy) Snyder of Tiffin, Vincent (Charlene) Snyder of Fremont and Marty (Chet) Schaeffer of Old Fort; seven nieces and nephews; and special friend and companion, Irene Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol; brothers, Joseph and Louis; and parents, Linus and Christine.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Eggleston Meinert Pavley, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. in Oregon, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and proceed to St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner in Walbridge, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
