Cedarville U. 'Big Band' to perform at CHS auditorium

The Cedarville University's Big Band will present, "Benny, Duke, Glenn & Tommy!" and other big band favorites at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m., in the Clyde High School Auditorium.

Dr. Mike DiCuirci, director, will bring the 26-piece band to play such tunes as "String of Pearls", "And the Angels Sing", "Tuxedo Junction", "Take the "A" Train", "Woodchoppers Ball", "Jericho" and "Fly Me To The Moon."

An Armed Forces medley will honor veterans, while the show will end with "God Bless America" in memory of Margaret Maike, Fremont. Maike was a Towne & Country longtime member, who died Jan. 21, 2009.

Cedarville, alumni, parents and donors are hosting the event with committee chairpersons Chuck and Peg McKenna of Norwalk; Ken and Marilyn Missler and Connie and Chris Hammer, all of Fremont; and John and Barb Fehl of Clyde and Green Springs.

Proceeds from the concert will help the university's instrumental department and the Towne & Country Players Concert Series.

T & C is handling the ticket sales at 419-668-1641. A seats are reserved, costing $12 in advance or at the door.
