A Friday night fire destroyed a moble home in Townsend Township. (Enterprise photo by Danielle Orr)

TOWNSEND TWP. - A fire destroyed a mobile home late Friday night at 7475 Ohio 101.

The call went out to the Townsend Fire Department around 9:40 p.m.

"We had guys at the Sandusky County Fair," said Townsend Fire Department Chief Joe Parkhurst. "So we called in Clyde for assistance, but by the time I got there it was already entirely engulfed in flames."

No one was inside the structure at the time of the blaze, and the residents escaped with only minor injuries. It is feared that some pets may have been lost in the fire, officials reported.

"It is believed from eye witnesses that the fire began in the living room," said Parkhurst. "We will not investigate any further because the mobile home was not insured. We didn't see anything suspicious."
