Local youths named to Ohio State Fair Band

Four Margaretta High School Band members are participating in the All Ohio State Fair Band in Columbus.

Members of the band include Jordan Haerr of Castalia (sophomore), Megan Miller of Vickery (junior), Stephanie Rankin of Castalia (junior), and Brooke Sargent of Clyde (junior).

The band was founded in 1925 and continues to be comprised of superior musicians from throughout the state of Ohio. They began practicing on July 26 and learned nearly 60 pieces of music. The band was to perform nearly 75 concerts before fair ended on Aug. 9.

The band members also had an opportunity to perform at the Ohio State Capitol Building on July 29 and at the The Dan Emmett Music and Arts festival in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on Aug. 8.
