Calico Cat finds it niche'

The Calico Cat is located at 115 S. Main St. Owner Mary Jane Dawes opened her shop on Winesburg Weekend in December 2007. She noted she is very proud of her first year - feeling satisfaction and having enjoyed dealing with the public.

Calico Cat sell vintage items, primitives, kitchenware, toys, books, small furniture, antiques, collectibles, gift items and seasonal items. The shop owner tries to make Clyde an attractive place to shop and live.

In the last year much money has been spent on advertising and signage and promotion. In the future, Dawes is looking to be an important part of downtown Clyde and continue to have attractive shop windows.

Dawes added that encourages new stores and works with current merchants to create unity and a strength of purpose in downtown Clyde. "My goal is to continue to serve Clyde and to make towns people think of shopping Clyde first!," she said.
