Two ladies head to Districts

The Lady Fliers tennis team raised its season record to 12-5 and to 8-3 in the Sandusky Bay Conference with a 4-1 win over Oak Harbor on Oct. 1.
The Lady Fliers got big wins from Spencer Robles and Shelbe Gibson at singles and from the doubles teams of Katie MacFarland and Kaylea Griffin and Emily Turner and Emily Stamm.
On Oct. 2 and Oct. 4, the Lady Fliers competed at the Division II Sectional Tournament at Port Clinton High School. The doubles team of Griffin and MacFarland advanced to the Division II District Tournament, which starts Oct. 9 and Oct.11 at Port Clinton High School.
Turner and Stamm advanced to the third round of the sectional tournament before falling in doubles play. Sam Hill and Robles advanced to the second round of singles play before falling.
