The Lady Fliers split their last four matches taking down Oak Harbor and Port Clinton at home and losing to Edison and Huron on the road.

You can catch the Lady Fliers in action Oct. 2 at St. Mary's or at home in a tri-match against Ross and St. Joe Oct. 4. The Lady Fliers will also be at home on Oct. 7 against Perkins.

Even though the Lady Fliers lost to Edison in five games, 21-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-20 and 15-7, they played one of their best matches of the year. Both teams scored at least 20 points in the first four games and it was very entertaining and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats all night.

Jamie Hoppe had a monster match with 19 kills, seven blocks and 43 digs. Lainey Barnett had eight kills. Tara Humbert had 26 digs.

Jordan Hoppe had 12 digs, and was 24/25 on serve receptions. Bridgette Setzler had 25 assists and 12 digs. Morgan Gray had 22 assists. The JV lost 18-25 and 11-25. Rachel Smetzler had five kills and five digs and Mindy Gill had 11 digs and was 10/10 on serve receptions.

"This was the best ball we have played all year even though we lost," Coach Brian Miller said. "Our defense was outstanding. If we can get this kind of effort every night we can upset some teams in the second half."

The Lady Fliers downed Oak Harbor in three games at home 25-18, 25-12 and 25-19 as the Rockets fall to 2-8 and 1-6 in the SBC. The Lady Fliers won the JV match 25-15 and 25-20.

Jamie Hoppe had 10 kills for the Lady Fliers and Lindi Humbert added eight more and had five aces. Lainey Barnett had nine kills.

The Lady Fliers defeated Port Clinton in three games 26-24, 25-14 and 25-12. With the win the Lady Fliers move to 7-8 overall and to 4-5 in the SBC. With the loss, Port Clinton falls to 1-12 and 0-9 in the SBC.

"We started off slow and we had to pick it up," Jamie Hoppe said. "But the team pulled through."

Hoppe had 16 kills and 11 digs. Lindi Humbert had two aces and five kills and Jordan Hoppe had 11 digs and six kills. Alesha Dickman had nine kills. Tara Humbert had 24 digs.

The Lady Fliers lost to Huron in three games 25-16, 25-17 and 25-15.
