Lady Fliers pound out

The Lady Fliers had a good week of volleyball going 3-1 in matches to bring their record back to 10-10. They defeated St. Joe and Fremont Ross at home and lost to Margaretta at home.
They defeated Sandusky St. Mary's on the road. You can catch the Lady Fliers in action Thursday, Oct. 9 at Oak Harbor.
The Lady Fliers lost a tough match at the Hanger on Sept. 30 to Margaretta 25-14, 24-26, 18-25 and 23-25.
Lainey Barnett led the Lady Fliers with 18 kills. Jamie Barnett had 16 kills and Alesha Dickman had nine kills. Tara Humbert had 33 digs and Jordan Hoppe had 20 digs. Morgan Gray had 27 assists and Bridgette Setzler had 23 assists.
The Lady Fliers took down Sandusky St. Mary's in three games , 25-15, 25-16 and 25-13 on Oct. 2. The loss drops the Panthers to 6-14 overall and to 2-10 in the Sandusky Bay Conference.
Tara Humbert had 21 digs for the Lady Fliers. Jamie Hoppe put down 14 kills and Alesha Dickman had eight. Morgan Gray had 19 assists and Lainey Barnett had seven kills. Jordan Hoppe was 18-of-18 serving with an ace. The Lady Flier JV won 25-20 and 25-19.
The Lady Fliers had a big day at the Hanger Saturday as they downed both teams from Fremont in a tri-meet Oct. 4, which also brought their season record back to the .500 mark at 10-10. The Lady Fliers beat St. Joseph Central Catholic 25-19 and 25-21. They then beat Ross 25-20 and 25-17.
Against SJCC, Lainey Barnett had eight kills and four blocks. Jamie Hoppe had six kills and 17 digs. Tara Humbert had 10 kills and Lindi Humbert had nine kills. Against Ross Jamie Hoppe had 12 kills and Jordan Hoppe had nine digs. Tara Humbert had 14 digs, Alesha Dickman had four kills and Barnett had five kills and five blocks.
