From antique furniture to new crafts, Cornerstone Antiques, Gifts and More matches its name.
Silvia Wott, the one-time owner of the home-business Krafty Basket, has opened the new store on South Main Street in downtown. The shop is located at the southeast corner of South Main and Buckeye streets in the former Croghan Bank building.
The main lobby of the former bank is now the central room for the display of crafts, gifts and antiques.
Wott has found a purpose for every little nook and space in the structure, including the old vault with steel bars, which is now a play area where children can stay as parents shop.
"This room is just a mix," Wott said about the main lobby. "We have a Christmas Room...We have a baby room; we have a kitchen area."
After operating the Krafty Basket for eight years, Wott now can feature many of her own crafts throughout the store.
The business is a retail store, which includes goods from several craft and antique sellers. "We rent booth space, but we don't have booths," she explained.
"I have people that have stuff here. I have several people. We have combined all our stuff." The new store in downtown opened on Aug. 19, but Wott said she will not hold the store's grand opening celebration until the weekend of the Clyde Country Fair later this month.
The store is general closed on Sundays and Mondays, but for the Country Fair later this month, Wott will have it opened throughout the weekend. Weekday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
