After a recent session of the Ottawa County Grand Jury, indictments have now been returned against the following individual, according to Prosecuting Attorney Mark Mulligan:
Dale R Weber, whose last known address is Cleveland, and Jarmearl M. Montgomery, whose last known address is Sandusky, have each been charged with Failure to Appear, felonies of the fourth degree, after both failed to attend court hearings on pending criminal cases. Weber is charged with one count in August; Montgomery is charged with two counts in July.
Shawna M. Balduf, 27, 213 W. Second Street, Port Clinton, was indicted on one count each of Forgery and Theft, after she allegedly cashed a check taken from a Marblehead woman in January. Both charges are felonies of the fourth degree, alleging the victim to be an elderly person.
Ryan K. Bevens, 21, Conover, Ohio, has been charged with one count of Assault of a Peace Officer, a felony of the fourth degree, after police were called to a domestic dispute earlier this month at a Port Clinton hotel. Officers tried to arrest Bevens, who then reportedly assaulted two bystanders as well as an officer. In addition to the felony, Bevens was also charged with misdemeanor counts of Domestic Violence, Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.
Eric 0. Ramirez, 502 Wood Street, Genoa, was charged with one count each of Breaking and Entering, Theft, Possession of Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, after he allegedly broke into a Genoa church earlier this month.
Jeremy T. Kline, 32, 909 Elliott Street, Marblehead, has been indicted on six counts of Theft by Deception over $500.00, all felonies of the fifth degree, and one count of Theft by Deception, a felony of the fourth degree. According to reports of the Marblehead Police Department, Kline allegedly contracted to move boats for individuals, but did not do the work after receiving payment from the victims. Warrants have been issued for Balduf, Bevens, Ramirez, and Kline.
All are scheduled to make their initial appearances in the Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas on September 25, 2009.
Warrants have been issued for Weber and Montgomery.
Mulligan noted that an indictment is merely a formal charge in the Common Pleas Court, and does not denote gui1t or innocence.
