Big Band and accordion player drop anchor at the North Jefferson St. pier
On Friday, July 24, 2009 from 6:30 - 8:30 P.M., join us in welcoming a new group to River Front Live! The Swingsters started in 2004 with a request made to Loren Kline to play for a Port Clinton senior citizen's prom. Now a thirty-five-member band with vocalists from all over Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan will entertain us with music ranging from the 20's to the 60's, to include Dixieland, waltz, polka, swing, foxtrot, novelty and more.
On Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 6:30 - 8:30 P.M., welcome back Charles D. Juhasz (yoo-haus) better known as "Chuck" of the Sea Jay Show. Chuck brings us his love of the accordion, utilizing the MIDI-Accordion to the music program. "With my beautiful bride of 40 years and my two daughters, 'Charlie's Angels' as I affectionately call them, love to play and put on shows at nursing homes," says Chuck of his family. After many years of leading his own orchestra Chuck and his wife Chris enjoy their summers in Port Clinton.
River Front Live! Outdoor Summer Music Program is an all-volunteer and a free musical program sponsored by the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Neidecker-LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, showcasing a variety of local talent and open to enthusiastic performers from other locations. At the new location of the North Jefferson Street Pier Pavilion, the program was created to bring attention to the downtown historic river front district, including the opportunity of parking in our convenient and secure city parking lot, also located at the north end of Jefferson Street. The city's parking lot affords you complete access to beautiful river front and lake front vistas. Experience the high "walk-ability" rating of our historic river front district. Eat your dinner before the concert or pick up a snack-to-go from the closely located restaurants and bring your own chairs to enjoy the view and the good family oriented music.
