Log Cabin

Flag football
The Lake Erie Flag Football League will be holding Fall Registration on August 2nd and 9th from 12 noon to 2pm at the Oak Harbor Municipal Building located at 146 N. Church St. in Oak Harbor. This is a non-contact co-ed league available for players between the ages of 6-8 and 9-11 years of age. Lake Erie Flag Football is directly affiliated with the NFL through NFL Youth Football. Riverview "Lunch & Learn" Programs
Riverview HealthCare Campus is sponsoring a "Lunch and Learn" Series for all of July and August. The topics for the upcoming week are; Steve Wierich, Village of Oak Harbor's Chief of Police speaking on "Senior Safety" including home safety, Phone Scams and how to keep yourself safe at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 5th. April Willer, Health and Wealth Educator will be speaking on August 7th at 12:30 pm with information on vitamins and nutritional supplements and low glycemic eating. This event is FREE and open to the public

Dog Days of Summer
Are you looking for something fun to do with your canine friend? Come out to Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, August 9th between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. and take a walk on the refuge's trails. Dog treats and human treats (ice cream novelties) will be available. Nature walks will be offered at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Dogs must get along with other dogs and be on a standard 6-foot leash to participate in the walks.

Public hearing
Oak Harbor Village Council will hold a public hearing on August 25, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. in Oak Harbor Village Council Chambers at 146 Church Street. Comments will be heard regarding the proposed re-zoning of property (Block 2, Lot 1 Original & Vacated Ally; Block 2, Lots 2,3,4 Original) located between Jefferson and Townline Streets, west of Church Street. Property is currently zoned R-3 (Residential). Applicant is requesting to re-zone this property to HI (Heavy Industry) to allow a commercial building to be built.
Democrat Picnic
The Ottawa County Democrats will hold their annual picnic on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the Carroll Township Complex, 11080 W. Toussaint E. Rd, off St. Rt. 19.
Hotdogs, hamburgers, coffee and lemonade will be provided. Please bring a covered dish to share and your own table service.
