3rd annual senior picnic
The weather could not have been more perfect for this year's 3rd Annual Senior Picnic at Lakeview Park.
The annual event has become an important part of the summer senior activities for Ottawa County and this year was no exception! Once again, the City of Port Clinton treated the seniors to a real picnic meal with cheeseburgers and hotdogs grilled to perfection, creamy potato salad, potato chips and more!
Thanks to the efforts of Tracy Colston, Recreation Director of the city of Port Clinton, the day went off with out a hitch.
"We really enjoy doing the picnic for the Seniors every year, we plan on continuing this event as long as we can," said, Colston.
The other sponsors of this events included Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Homes, Ottawa County Senior Resources and new this year, Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, who provided the free blood pressure screening.
"We could not have asked for a more perfect day, said Dianne Mortensen, executive coordinator for Senior Resources. "The outpouring of the community organizations to the seniors has been wonderful. Port Clinton Mayor Debbie Hymore-Tester welcomed the seniors to Lakeview Park and thanked the seniors for helping to make this event an annual occurrence.
This year, Theresa Rollo aka 'The Accordion Lady" along with her 'Friends" encouraged a rousing sing-along as seniors were treated to an old fashion ice cream social, sponsored by Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Homes and decorated cakes and cookies donated by the Friends of the Park.
