Wauseon Christmas Parade featuring lighted floats, refreshments, festivities
The path to Christmas, for local residents, leads through Wauseon. The official season kicks off when the Community Christmas Parade rolls down Fulton Street on Saturday, Nov. 28.
Last November the Wauseon Downtown Merchant's ran the parade with great success. There were over 45 floats and hundreds of spectators. The group is organizing this year's parade, too. There is no charge to enter and you may enter a vehicle, float, walkers or pretty much anything.
The parade will be in the evening and lighted, so keep this in mind when planning your entry. The group encourages lighted entries and, if possible, to have Christmas music playing to liven the festivities.
Parade line up will be between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. with the parade beginning at 7 p.m.
The parade route will begin on the corner of Clinton and Elm Street, heading east on Elm St. to Fulton, then south on Fulton to South Park.
Immediately following the parade the Wauseon High School Chorale will be entertaining everyone during a short ceremony when the famous Wauseon Christmas Star and South Park will be lit.
Refreshments will be served and parade spectators are encouraged to join together at the park for the festivities.
Watch future issues for entry forms for the parade's Prince and Princess Contest.
