Safe food training available at OSU Extension office
Training managers in safe food handling could be the most cost-effective strategy your business will use. Ohio State University Extension is pleased to announce that ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification will be offered Monday, Oct. 13, and Wednesday, Oct. 15, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with the exam offered at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, in the Robert Fulton Agriculture Center just east of the Fulton County Fairgrounds on SH 108, Wauseon.
This training is provided using the National Restaurant Association's ServSafe curriculum.
Topics for the sessions include basic food safety practices as well as further information on microorganisms and principles of the HAACP system. Completion will include testing and certification.
This training is open to any manager or employee of food service operations. Early registrants can save $25 ($175.00 per participant) by submitting their registration and check by Sept. 29. After Sept. 29, a fee of $200 per participant will be accepted until Oct. 6.
Any food service worker, manager or owner of food service establishments will benefit from this training, because every part of your operation affects the safety of the food you serve and every employee plays a role in keeping food safe.
This is an opportunity to help you and your employees to better understand your role in food safety at a price that your business can afford.
