Couple announces wedding plans

Harold and Rhonda Staples of Owensboro, Ky. and Wayne and Delores Short of Delta are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Katie Marie Staples and Kent Frederick Short.

Staples is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Murray State University and a master's and Rank I from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is currently teaching.

Short is a graduate of Delta High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in paper science engineering from Miami University (Ohio). He is an account manager for Nalco Chemicals.

The couple will be married on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro.
