Robert G. Leis

Robert G. Leis, 68, of rural Delta, Ohio, passed away early Sunday morning, August 17, 2008, in his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief battle with cancer. He was born August 29, 1941, in Whitehouse, Ohio, to the late John and Betty (Householder) Leis. He married Connie A. Conway on May 4, 1963 and she preceded him in death on August 21, 2006. Robert was a former employee of Swan Creek Township employed in road maintenance and as a mechanic. He was a former member of St. Caspar Catholic Church, Wauseon, the Delta Eagles and was an Indian motorcyclist.

Robert is survived by his three children, Edward (Jolene) Leis of Tampa, Fla., James Leis of Holgate, Ohio, and Dawn Leis of Defiance; five grandchildren, Brad Leis of Napoleon, Ohio, Ben Leis of North Dakota, Zach Leis of Winnsboro, Tex., and Ashley Castle and Jakob Bertram, both of Defiance, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Larry Leis and two sisters, Sharon Tedrow and Joan Hunter.

Graveside services and interment is at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Raker Cemetery in rural Delta, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Edward Schleter officiating. There are no calling hours or visitation scheduled.
