Indian golfers win two

The Wauseon golf team defeated Liberty Center 154-164 in NWOAL golf on Monday. Kaleb Figy earned medalist honors with a 34 to lead the Indians. He was followed by Michael Dietrich, Matt Drummer and Colin Dietrich, who all shot 40.

The Indians also defeated Holgate last week 155-187 at Ironwood. Drummer shot a 35 fo medalist honors. Colin Dietrich had a 39, Michael Dietrich 40 and Figy 41.

Wauseon will square off against Archbold today.

Streaks top Locos

Archbold beat Montpelier 157-184 in NWOAL golf action on Monday. Jarrett Yoder earned medalist honors with a 38. Steven Kinsman had a 39 and Jacob Nofziger and Tyson Bostelman shot 40.

Pettisville sweept meet

Pettisville swept Archbold and Evergreen in cross country action on Tuesday. The boys scored 21 while Archbold had 40 and Evergreen 61. For the girls, Pettisville had 27, Evergreen 40 and Archbold 62.

Blackbird Austin Borton finished first in the boys race with a time of 17:49. Tanner Hostetler won the girls race in 20:44.

Blue Streaks win

The Archbold girls soccer team defeated Napoleon 5-1 on Tuesday to move to 2-1 on the season. Alicia Drewes and Jessica Ramirez each scored two goals and Trisha King added one in the victory. Autumn Lantz had two assists.

WHS tennis falls

Maumee Valley got the best of Wauseon winning a tennis match 4-1 on Tuesday. Catie Savage earned the lone Indian victory.

Bombers advance

The Wood Trucking Bombers advanced to the second round of the Roy Hobbs League playoffs after defeating Sylvania's New Technology 4-3. Delta's Bob Lopez pitched seven innings allowing three runs on six hits with three walks and four stikeouts.

Leading hitters for the bombers were Wauseons Ralph Rolon with a double and a run scored, Brian Little with a single and an RBI, Delta's Tige Bateson with a single and an RBI and Bob Lopez with a double and an RBI. The Bombers will be resuming tournament action in two weeks.
