Swanton school board should be re-called

By their actions rejecting the approved contract agreement that would allow Swanton teachers to continue working to educate our children, The Swanton Board of Education have proven that they are more interested in power than the effective education of our students. Its rejection shows that the board no longer functions as a viable governmental unit bound to serve the entire community. Their actions are ones that seek to destroy the positive relationship developed over the years between teachers, past boards and the community they both serve. These actions can only serve one purpose, that being to remove the SEA and others as organizations representing the interests of the working staff of the schools... representation that is guaranteed by the federal government.

By these actions it is clear that the board is acting in a way that is counter to the primary function of providing quality education services to the community, and therefore, in my opinion has lost the confidence of the community and should be re-called.

The citizenry has the power to place people into positions that serve the entire community's best interests and therefore should also not be shy in exercising their right to remove those from office who do not provide that service.
