Charles "Scott" Yoder

Charles "Scott" Yoder, 59, of Maumee died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 30, 1948, in Toledo to Charles and Jacqulyn Yoder.

After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, served in Vietnam and married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Bueter. Scott was a manager, then an agent, at Nationwide Insurance for the past 30 years. He was a loyal Ohio State Buckeye fan and an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending summers at Devils Lake, where he served on the board at the Devils Lake Yacht Club. He was a member and former president of the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Colleen; children, Jason, Elizabeth (Ryan) and Stephen (April); grandchildren, Christopher, Megan, Hailey, Zachary, Wesley, Amber and Cameron; mother, Jacqulyn; siblings, Tom (Cindy), Suzanne, and John (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles and brother, Christopher.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at Coyle Funeral Home in Toledo, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Toledo. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery.
