Panthers sixth at state

COLUMBUS - The Delta Panthers led area athletes with a sixth place finish in the Division III state cross country meet at Scioto Downs on Saturday.

Elliott Oberneder paced Delta with a time of 16:48.08, good for 26th place. Colin Fisher was 38th in 17:01.90, Maxx Lackie was 64th in 17:25.85, K.J. Abair was 65th in 17:25.93, Zech Hites was 96th in 17:59.36 and Alec Nash was 99th in 18:01.23.

The Panthers totaled 180 points as a team. Independence won the state title with 84, while Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas was second. Hilltop was seventh.

Fayette's Darrell Randall was 50th with a time of 17:16.15.

In the girls' race in Division III, Pettisville's Tanner Hostetler was 36th with a time of 20:33.86.

In the girls' Division II race, Wauseon's Marin Baird finished 31st with a time of 20:06.74.
