Kendal to break ground for 12 more cottages Thursday

After successfully completing the first phase of a planned expansion, Kendal at Oberlin will break ground Thursday for 12 more cottages.

Phase II of the master plan began last year with the updating of the health and wellness clinic and included the initial planning of the dining renovation, taking place this year and next, and land acquisition for the new cottages. After completion of Phase II, future plans include 12 additional cottages, bringing the total to 36, and a limited number of new health care units.

The goal of the Kendal expansion is to provide an attractive homelike environment intended to support and enhance the aging process and the delivery of care.

The groundbreaking for the new cottages will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
