Peace Potluck is Friday at church
Oberlin College senior Maia Brown will be presenting the program at the next Peace Potluck, held at Peace Community Church, 44 E. Lorain St., on Friday, Nov. 6. Supper will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with 15 minutes afterward provided for announcements.
The program, "Traveling in the Balkans a Decade After Conflict: Jews and Palestinians, Together," will take place from 6:45-7:45 p.m.
Brown, a double major in studio art and history, spent the summer with a program called Abraham's Vision (AV). An academic fellowship in comparative conflict and social justice analysis, AV brings American Jews and American Palestinians as well as Palestinian and Israeli students to the Balkans to study the conflict there in the 1990s while participating in a facilitated dialogue on the situation in the Middle East. Brown will share personal reflections on her experience as an AV fellow. Time will also be available for questions and comments.
For more information, contact Rev. Mary Hammond, 774-3031, at Peace Community Church. Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of the evening's activities. Handicapped access is available. Parking is located behind the church.
