Workers key to UN dinner
To the editor:
We wish to thank all the volunteers who made the United Nations Dinner a success.
The participation of students who made cakes, decorated them representing international flags, and helped serve was a special joy this year. We thank the many people who came to the dinner and those who could not attend but contributed anyway. We also appreciate the contribution that Kendal at Oberlin made by ordering the food for the dinner. And finally, we could not have held the dinner at all without the people of First Church UCC who allowed us the use of their church building and provided many of the volunteers who gave their time and energy.
We will be able to contribute at least $1,000 to the Model UN program at the Oberlin schools, and also contribute to UNICEF.
Thank you again.

Children help feed the hungry
To the editor:
I would like to express my extreme gratitude to the children of Rust United Methodist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Collectively the children raised more than $700 and donated it to Oberlin Community Services. With this money we were able to provide turkeys to 30 families for Thanksgiving and have some left over to supplement our Holiday Cheer Food baskets to be distributed in December.
To all of these children who worked so hard on behalf of those in need, please know that your hard work and generosity resulted in holiday meals for our friends and neighbors.
