Festivities celebrate rebirth

To the editor:

This Homecoming week at Oberlin schools is one to celebrate yet another resurgence. In addition to the local schools recent continuing improvement on the academic scorecard, the Oberlin High School athletic teams can feel proud as three of the four fall sports teams will take the field this weekend with winning records. Indeed, the football team as well as both the boys and girls soccer teams are either leading or sharing the lead in the Patriot Athletic Conference Stripes Division.

This on-field excellence is attributable to the dedication and efforts of coaches and players alike. During this Homecoming week, please consider attending an event or two and witness first-hand the successes of our student-athletes. And, whether you graduated from Oberlin as an Indian or a Phoenix, know that you are welcome at the All-Alumni Tailgate Party preceding the homecoming football game from 5-7 p.m. on the OHS grounds. A $5 donation is requested for the all-you-can-eat event.

Go Oberlin!
