Keith E.

Wurster

Keith E. Wurster, 81, of Elyria and formerly of Oberlin, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born Feb. 6, 1928 in Elyria and was a 1945 graduate of Elyria High School. He served with the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany at the end of World War II.

He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1950 and in addition, received his degree as a certified public accountant in 1962.

His career included comptroller of Warren Tool Manufacturing, Warren, Ohio, then as comptroller of Gilford Instruments, Oberlin. Most recently, he was a stockbroker with Pierre R. Smith and Company in Elyria.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oberlin. His varied interests included music, stamp collecting and genealogy. He and his wife enjoyed participating in many square dance and round dance clubs in the area.

Mr. Wurster is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; daughters Susan L. Wurster (Katherine Parnes) of Waltham, Mass., and Christine L. Jordan (Tim) of Stow, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Doris E. Smith of Webster Groves, Mo.; and brother, Lee E. Wurster of Dublin, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lauren and Lorance Wurster.

A memorial service will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at the Wesleyan Village Chapel, 807 West Ave., Elyria, Ohio. Reverend Beth McKee, chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Senior Living Foundation, 807 West Ave., Elyria, Ohio, 44035; or First United Methodist Church of Oberlin, 45 S. Professor St., Oberlin, 44074. Dicken Funeral Home, Elyria, is in charge of arrangements.

John F.

Strong

John F. Strong, 89, of Findlay, formerly of Oberlin and Kansas City, Mo., died on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in Findlay, Ohio after a long illness.

He was born in Oberlin on July 7, 1920, to Grace Banford and Jarvis A. Strong, Sr. He attended the College of Wooster and Oberlin College.

He owned and operated Strong's Insurance Agency prior to moving to Missouri in the 1960s. He also wrote a column, Strong Points, for the News-Tribune.

He retired from J.B. Lippincott Co., the health profession publisher of Harper & Row, Inc. Following his retirement, he returned to Oberlin where he lived for many years before moving to Findlay.

He loved golf and was a long-time member of the Oberlin Golf Club.

He is survived by four children, Ann of Sewickley, Pa., Nancy of Arlington, Mass., Ben of Findlay, and Hans of New York City; three grandsons, Dan, Mike and Noah Hurowitz of Arlington, Mass.; and his brother, Jarvis A. Jr. of McLean, Va.

A memorial service will be held at First Church Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.

Tracy Anne

Wolfe

Tracy Anne Wolfe, 44, died suddenly at her parents' home on Colony Drive, on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009.

She was a 1983 graduate of Oberlin High School, and the University of South Florida.

Miss Wolfe is survived by her parents, Kenneth F. and Joyce L. Wolfe of Oberlin; a sister, Martha Myers of Columbia, Mo.; and a brother, Kenneth P. Wolfe, of Tampa, Fla.
