Mercer

Marianna "Molly" H. Mercer (nee Hubbard), a resident of Kendal of Oberlin, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009.

Ms. Mercer was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, on March 2, 1925. She was a very active volunteer at MetroHealth Medical Center particularly in the 1980s. She was an avid tennis and golf player into her seventies and played at Oberlin Golf Club, and River Oaks Tennis Club. She enjoyed all types of needlework and cross stitch. She was formerly a member of St. Peter Episcopal Church in Lakewood, Ohio, and was currently a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Oberlin.

She is survived by children William G. Mercer, John L. Mercer (Ruth), and Buckley H. Mercer (Bernadette); and grandchildren Jacob, Samuel, and Sarah Mercer. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Buckley Hubbard and John Hubbard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be forwarded to Christ Episcopal Church, 162 S. Main Street, Oberlin, 44074. There will be a memorial service at Christ Episcopal Church on Friday Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. with a private interment.
