Lakeside Fire thanks Kroger Company

The Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department has been in existence since 1905, serving the residents of Lakeside/Marblehead and Danbury Township. Throughout the years the department has received great community support from the residents and the business community.

This year has been no exception. In spite of the economy, on Labor Day the fire department served nearly 530 meals at its annual spaghetti dinner. Support and attendance by the residents again made the dinner a huge success.

This year the Kroger Company, in cooperation with its local store in Port Clinton, contributed nearly all of the food and paper products. Special thanks to Alan Faust from the corporate office in Cincinnati and Robert Sears, manager of the local Port Clinton Kroger store, who coordinated the necessary details with John Starcher. Starcher has directed the annual spaghetti dinner for several years. Likewise, the Kroger Company arranged with its demo company, New Conceptions Marketing, to have four volunteers who assisted in serving the meals for the entire day.

The Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department sincerely appreciates the generosity of the Kroger Company, the demo company and its many volunteers who shared their resources of time and talents in making the spaghetti dinner a huge success.

Since the fire department is a 501.C3 charitable organization, all funds and revenues received go toward providing quality fire and emergency service protection for the residents of this area.

Again, thank you to Kroger, the volunteers and the residents who supported their annual fund-raising endeavor.
