David Bassett
David Bassett, 53, passed away on June 7.
He was born in Port Clinton on Sept. 28, 1954 to Richard and Dorothy (Dewey) Bassett. In 1983, he married Lucinda Reddick, and she survives.
He approached life with a fearless, take-no-prisoners attitude that won him many friends over the years. He spread enthusiasm throughout his life, living in places as diverse as Oak Harbor, Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Malibu, Calif.
He was a cook, snowboarder, Buckeye fan, businessman, motorcyclist, and devoted father to his and Lucinda's two children, Brittany and Sammy. His sense of humor and fun was legendary, and almost anyone who met him has a "David story" to tell.
He was a 1976 graduate of the Ohio State University, with a degree in horticulture from the College of Agriculture.
Survivors include his wife, Lucinda; his children, Brittany and Sammy; his parents, Richard and Dorothy; and a brother, Mike (Debbi) Bassett.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jody (Tom) Stoyan.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor.
