Marblehead Police
Department steps up patrol
Beginning the month of May, the Marblehead Police Department advises village residents, businesses and visitors that there will be a noted increase of police patrols on the streets within the village limits.
Chief Greg Fultz reports the increase of the police presence is to best ensure that residents, businesses, visitors and property remain safe and secure at all times, and especially during the busy summer season.
Chief Fultz reports with the hard economical times, there has been an increase of crime within the community. The Marblehead Police Department has already seen an early increase in burglaries of homes, vandalism and thefts of property for 2009.
With 54 criminal arrests for the year thus far, 50 of those being drug related, two carrying concealed weapon (semi automatic pistol, brass knuckles, and a meat cleaver), and two alcohol related offenses, it states a fact that criminals are out there and the police are attempting to stop them before they can carry out any other crimes within the village.
The Marblehead Police Department requests the support of all in efforts to eliminate crime on the streets. Chief Fultz request that any suspicious activity, persons, or vehicles on your streets be reported immediately to the department for investigation at 419-798-5881 or for immediate response call 419-734-4404.
Additionally, all are reminded to protect yourselves by locking your doors, windows, vehicles and monitoring your property closely.
If your instinct says something is not right, then usually its not. Report it.
Your assistance and cooperation on this matter is truly appreciated by Chief Fultz and the Marblehead Police Department as they strive to keep our village safe and secure for all.
