Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival Saturday, Oct. 10

Lakeside's life and activities are growing far beyond the 11 weeks of the Chautauqua summer season. The Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival, a cherished fall tradition that supports the Lakeside Association and Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, will be held in Lakeside from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.

The peninsula-wide festival will include a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Sponsored by the Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, $2 tours of the Marblehead Lighthouse will be available for guests from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The lighthouse, built in 1821, is the second oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes and the oldest in continuous operation on the Great Lakes. Donations will be accepted. Parking with bus service is available at Danbury High School for $5/car. Please get your hand stamped at the high school. Free parking is available in Lakeside's South Gate Parking Lot. Free golf cart shuttles are available on the Lakeside grounds.

Prizes will be awarded to Best Pie Overall, Most Unique Recipe, Best Appearance, and Best Pie Baked by a Male, Female and Youth. The winning pies will be auctioned at 3:45 p.m. on the Hoover Auditorium porch, while the remainder will be available for purchase at $10 per pie.
