Lakers compete at Stritch Cross Country Invite

The Danbury Lakers Cross Country team had a good day at Maumee Bay State Park for the Stritch Invitational, held on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Seven members of the varsity cross country team finished the 3.1 mile race with a personal best for the year. For the men's team, Dylan Buckley placed 43rd with a time of 19:28, Jake Fultz was 51st with a time of 19:37 and Brandon Burke was 54th with a time of 19:43. They competed in a field of 217 runners.

In the girls competition, Kayla Oxendale led the Lakers with a time of 21:41 and a 23rd place finish, while teammate Becka Hartman placed 27th with a time of 22:41. Team members Kyleigh Hemmer and Mollie Knighton also posted personal bests.
