Ohio man found dead inside car at bottom of lake

ARLINGTON, Ohio (AP) -- Police in northwest Ohio say they've pulled the body of a 51-year-old man from a car found submerged in a lake.

Authorities say tire tracks in the snow led to the lake outside a sportsmen's club where Robert Houdeshell spent time Tuesday afternoon.

The Arlington man was found by sheriff's divers about 27 feet beneath the surface Wednesday in Hancock County's Whiskey Lake. Sheriff Mike Heldman says investigators are treating the death as an accident.

Authorities say the tire tracks show Houdeshell might have tried to back out of the parking lot in his girlfriend's Pontiac Grand Prix but skidded down an embankment and into the lake.

Sheriff's Sgt. Bill Gilley says the water temperature was 34 degrees on Wednesday.
