Ag Breakfast a success
On Friday, March 14 the Ottawa County Soil and Water along with the Ottawa County Extension held their annual Agricultural Community Breakfast. The Genoa-Penta FFA along with Oak Harbor FFA helped serve breakfast to the people attending and helped to clean up afterward.
The Genoa FFA students that attended were Ariel Burke, Caleb D' Clute, DJ Coffman, Melissa Curry, and Drew Ranes.
The breakfast started with a welcome from Carol Benner, followed by the invocation and breakfast. After breakfast Ottawa County Commissioner, Jim Sass, spoke on his recent trip to Minnesota.
Kathy Booher, OSU Extension Ottawa County announced the winners of the 2008 Ag Scholarships. Each scholarship is $500. Ariel Burke received one of the scholarships. She is a senior at Genoa Area High School and will be pursuing an equine degree at Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster. She is the daughter of Brian and Penny Burke of Genoa. After the scholarships were handed out the closing remarks were given by Josh Gerwin.
