Region IV Regional Experience in Columbus July 17-20
This is your opportunity to experience the competition, education and fun of an American Quarter Horse show in your area. Developed for people who have always wanted to try an AQHA Championship show, but might not have felt comfortable, these experiences are held throughout 10 regions of North America. Each Regional Experience incorporates AQHA's team of corporate partners providing trade shows, Professional Horsemen clinics, judging sessions and educational seminars -- all designed around a fun and competitive AQHA "championship style" show. These new Regional Experiences are guaranteed to provide you the ultimate AQHA showing experience, while also introducing you to the fun of an American Quarter Horse show.
Who Can Compete
Regional Experiences are open to exhibitors and owners residing in the respective states or provinces comprising the region. The Region IV Regional Experience is open to horses and exhibitors living in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Ontario and West Virginia. Each exhibitor must be a current AQHA member and all horses must be AQHA registered. Horses and/or exhibitors may compete in only one Regional Experience per calendar year.
Who Cannot
Compete
Exhibitors and horses are excluded from showing in any division (Open, Amateur, Youth or Novice) of any class in which they placed in the top 10 at the 2007 AQHA World Show, AQHA Amateur World Show, AQHA Amateur Select World Show or AQHA Youth World Show. Additionally, horses or people who might advance to another class because of age and have placed in the top 10 at one of AQHA's World Shows in 2007 cannot enter the same class at the regional level. Exhibitors who placed top 10 in a Halter class in any AQHA World Championship show listed previously are excluded from competing in any age class of the same sex division, including Open, Amateur or Youth divisions at the Regional Show. Example -- winning a world top 10 in Open Yearling Mares excludes the exhibitor from competing in any Open, Amateur or Youth Mare class at this show.
Show Location
The Ohio Expo Center is your location for the Region IV Regional Experience. The Ohio Expo Center has more than 1,000 permanent horse stalls in the Gilligan barn. The barn can also hold more than 1,000 temporary stalls. Classes will be held in the coliseum, which holds 6,000 spectators, as well as Cooper Arena, the covered Scottsdale Arena and the 17th Avenue Arena.

Parking -- $5 per day.
Whole Show Pass -- $15.
Camping -- $25 per day, administered by the Ohio Expo Center on a first-come, first-served basis.

Entry Information
The Region IV Regional Experience is open to horses and exhibitors living in Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Ontario and West Virginia. Full-time students with proof of enrollment in a participating state may show in Region IV, but they may compete in only one Regional Experience per year. Each exhibitor must be a current AQHA member and all horses must be AQHA registered. Show management will not accept novice permits from amateurs or youth to exhibit horses not meeting AQHA ownership requirements. Leases on file with AQHA, and providing proper paperwork to show management, will be accepted.
Performance Halter Classes
Horses must have earned an AQHA Register of Merit in a Performance Event in the appropriate performance division -- Open, Amateur or Youth -- to enter that division. A copy of the horse's ROM certificate must accompany any Performance Halter class entry. A horse cannot show in its age group and in the corresponding Performance Halter class.
Youth Team Tournament
Region IV will have a Youth Team Tournament for youth representing any state or regional Quarter Horse association or 4-H or local club in Region IV. Two youth from each association may represent a team in each regular AQHA youth class. Contact the OQHA office for entry information.
Novice Youth 13 and Under, 14-18 Classes
The Region IV Regional Experience will hold Novice Youth 13 and Under and 14-18 classes for Horsemanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Showmanship and Western Pleasure. The top 10 placers in each division will compete in an all-age finals. Novice Youth will enter their all age class. Novice Youth entrants will be automatically entered in the 13 and Under or the 14-18 age group (age is determined as of Jan. 1).
WCHA Classes
The World Conformation Horse Association will also be holding classes in conjunction with the Region IV Regional Show. The four classes will be WCHA Limited Non-Pro Mares, WCHA Limited Non-Pro Geldings, WCHA Limited Youth Mares, and WCHA Limited Youth Geldings.
