2008 National Tractor Pulling Championships

The National Tractor Pulling Championships takes place at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green. The physical address is 13800 W. Poe Rd., Bowling Green, OH 43402. It is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Poe Rd. and Haskins Rd. (St. Rt. 64). The closest airport is the Toledo Express Airport, approximately 30 miles to the north.

Session I, 1 p.m., Friday Aug. 15:

Session I and II (Friday all day).

Advance tickets -- Kids 10 and under free, adults $40. Gate tickets -- Kids 10 and under free, adults $44.

Session II, 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15:

* Modifieds

* Super Semis

* SS Diesel

* 4WD Trucks

* Modified Minis

Session II only (Friday evening).

Session III, noon, Saturday, Aug. 16:

Vehicle Classifications

Two Wheel Drive Trucks:

* Single automotive type V-8 engine

* Maximum 575 cubic inches, turbos or superchargers allowed

* Fifteen foot maximum length from front of truck to center of rear wheels

* Maximum width -- eight foot

* HP ranging between 1,200 to over 2,000

* Rear tires 18.4x16.1 inches, maximum circumference 143 inches on 18 inch rim at 28 psi.

* Maximum total vehicle weight -- 6,200 pounds

* Planetary rear end allowed

Four Wheel Drive Trucks:

* Single naturally aspirated automotive type engine

* Maximum 650 cubic inches

* Maximum 133 inch wheel base

* HP ranging between 1,000 to 1,300

* Tires may not exceed 18 inch tread width by 38 inches high

* Maximum total vehicle weight -- 6,200 pounds

* Must maintain original appearance, with hood, grill and fenders in place as intended by manufacturer

* Tires -- maximum 112 inch circumference on 20 inch rim, at 30 psi

Mini Rods:

* Single automotive type V-8 engine

* Maximum 575 cubic inches blown, 650 cid naturally aspirated

* HP from 1,800 to 2,000

* Eight feet maximum length from center of rear wheels

* Maximum width of six feet

* Rear tires maximum 18.4x16.1 inches, maximum circumference 143 inches at 28 psi

* Maximum total vehicle weight -- 2,000 pounds (increased in 2000)

Super Farm:

* Engine -- Size limited to 640 cubic inches

* Stock agricultural head on engine

* Stock intake an d exhaust manifolds

* Compete at 9,300 pounds

* Tires a maximum of 48 lugs on a 24.5 by 32 tire

* Retain stock appearance

Open Super Stock:

* Stock or OEM block

* HP up to 2,000

* Diesel or alcohol powered

* Stock crankshaft, transmission housing and final drive

* Stock frame, hood and grill

* Maximum 114 inch wheelbase

* Maximum length of 13 feet from center of rear wheels

* Rear tires 30.5 inches maximum width

* Up to four turbos at 250 psi boos

* SFI 4.2 bellhousing blanket required

Diesel Super Stock:

* Same as above, but only diesel powered vehicles

Pro Stock:

* Engine -- Must be mounted in original position

* Hood and grillwork mounted in original location as intended by manufacturer

* Maximum weight -- 10,000 pounds

* Limited to one turbocharger

* Tires -- Maximum width, 24.5 inches

* No engine larger than 680 cid (plus or minus one percent)

Modified:

* Fuel -- Gas or alcohol

* Engines -- Limited number depending on engine type, any combination

* Maximum length 14 feet forward of the center of rear wheels

* No motor or cubic inch limit

* HP ranging from 6,000 to 11,000

* Rear tires 30.5 inches maximum width

* Maximum total vehicle weight -- 7500 pounds

Unlimited Modified:

* Maximum weight 8,000 pounds

* Fuel -- Gas or alcohol

* Engines -- Unlimited, any number or combinations of engines or type

* Maximum length 14 feet forward of the center of rear wheels

* No motor or cubic inch limit

* Rear tires 30.5 inches maximum width

Super Semis:

* Maximum weight 20,000 pounds with 250 inch maximum wheelbase

* One production available commercial truck engine allowed

* Stock appearance truck of that year

* Road use approved tires that are available to the public

* Only tandem axle semi-trucks

* Only two stages of air pressure allowed with combination of turbo and/or supercharges

Track Policies

The National Tractor Pulling Championships are held the third weekend in August at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green. To make your stay with us more enjoyable and rewarding, please familiarize yourself with the following policies. And "Thank you" for visiting with us:

* Cooler Size -- Fans/spectators are limited to one cooler no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches. All coolers larger than that must remain in vehicles, they can not be left at the gates.

* No Glass Containers -- No glass containers of any kind are permitted inside the gates. Coolers will be checked. Thank you for your cooperation.

* Packages -- Fans/spectators are allowed to bring in one clear plastic bag no larger than 18 inches by 18 inches by 4 inches. All bags, fanny packs, purses, etc. are subject to inspection.

* Firearms -- Due to the Wood County Fairgrounds being a political subdivision, i.e. County Property, House Bill 12 concealed carry handgun law does not apply. Therefore, no firearms, fireworks, and/or any items restricted by local, state or federal law will not be allowed on the premises. None of the above mentioned restricted items shall be left in or around the gate areas.

* Unauthorized Motorized Vehicles -- No unauthorized motorized vehicles are allowed inside the gates. This includes but not limited to ATV's, motor bikes, golf carts, scooters etc. Also, they can not be parked outside the gates at any time.

* Couches -- No couches or stuffed furniture of any kind is allowed inside the gates. Please limit chairs in the general admission track seating to lawn chairs. Thank you.

* Video Equipment -- No video equipment of any kind is allowed.

* No Rain Date / No Refunds -- The National Tractor Pulling Championships has a policy of "No Rain Date / No Refunds." In the event of rain, the Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Board of Directors may cancel or postpone the event. In threatening or unsafe weather conditions, the NWOTPA office will be in contact with local weather advisors and keep the fans and pullers up to date as quickly as possible. If the pull is canceled or delayed, our no rain date, no refund policy may be implemented. This is done to bring you only the highest quality event possible. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

* Location -- The physical address of the National Tractor Pulling Championships is the Wood County Fairgrounds, 13800 West Poe Rd., Bowling Green, OH 43402. It is located at the corner of West Poe Rd. and Haskins Rd.. Office telephone number is 888-385-7855.

* Cash Only at Gates -- Ticket sales at the gates on the days of the event are "Cash Only." MC, Visa and Discover can be used to purchase advance tickets online or through the office.

* Re-Entry Policy -- If exiting the grounds for any reason, you must have a hand stamp and your ticket stub to return.

* ATM Machine -- An ATM Machine will be available to the public during the National Tractor Pulling Championships. It will be located underneath the Covered Grandstand during Trade Show Hours.

* Sunday Church Services -- There are Sunday church services on the grounds in the Junior Fair Building. Catholic Mass at 9 a.m., Non-denominational Service at 10:30 a.m.

Fan Appreciation Night

Come join us for "Fan Appreciation Night, Thursday, Aug. 14 for "Dancin in the Dirt" with The Danger Brothers. The gates open at 4 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m. and goes until midnight. This will be a free concert, general admission.

Come early and check out our open pits. Get up close and personal with some of North America's best and most powerful pulling machines before they roar down the pulling tracks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then dance on those very pulling tracks with the competitors and fans as the Danger Brothers un-leash their "tradition of spine-tingling, eye-boggling and ear-ringing Rock and Roll." (This will be an adult show) Don't miss out.
