Google and genealogy

Although many computer users know Google as a search engine, some users may be surprised to discover that it offers millions of digitized books at its Web site. Many of these books contain precious genealogical and historical information.

On Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor Street, Delta, the Fulton County Genealogical Society presents, "Googling for Books," by William J. Priest. Priest is a retired records manager for a large corporation and has advanced training in disaster prevention/recovery and methodologies of filing systems.

Come learn how to locate, download, print or store the books found on Google. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information on the Fulton County Genealogical Society, visit their Web site at <www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohfulton>.
