Pumpkin decorating contest planned

A pumpkin decorating contest sponsored by local businesses is being held this year in Swanton. Children can bring their decorated pumpkin to the Swanton Area Community Coalition at 95 N. Main Street in Swanton by Oct. 20.

There will be prizes for three age categories. Contestants will be split in the groups for 3-6 year olds, 7-12 year olds and 13-18 year olds.

Community voting will be held at four area businesses. Voting will take place at National City Bank on Airport Highway, Henry Harold's Restaurant on Main Street, Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Turtle Creek and First Federal Savings and Loan of Delta on Main Street from Oct. 23-30.

Winners will be announced at the Swanton business Halloween party on Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m.
